We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance. ~ Harrison Ford (1942 – )

There are new socks on the needles:

This yarn started pooling, so I decreased the stitch count a tad and now it’s striping nicely. That makes me happy.

I’ve pretty much decided to frog the Tropical Monkey socks back to the heel and knit a plain, stockinette foot. I plan to do that when I’m done with these socks. I don’t know why, but I really want to finish these socks. It must be the predicted change in weather for this weekend.

I haven’t done this in a few weeks, but here’s Friday’s Feast:

Appetizer
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you look forward to your birthday?

3. It’s not that I don’t like my birthday, but that it’s really just another day for me. I usually take the day off work and spend the day watching movies and knitting.

Soup
What is one word you don’t like the sound, spelling, or meaning of?
I hate the sound of the word ‘slacks’.

Salad
Do you wear sunglasses when you’re outside? If so, what does your current pair look like?
Always. I have a basic, cheapo pair of sunglasses. I’m prone to losing/breaking them , so I buy them at Target or WalMart.

Main Course
If you were to write a book, to whom would you dedicate it?
Depending on what the book was about, my parents or my best friend. Maybe both.

Dessert
Name a beverage that you enjoy.
I adore ice cold Diet Cherry Pepsi.

  1. I must be one of those odd people who don’t mind pooling. Everywhere I read, it’s suppose to be the scourge of knitters, but I kind of dig it. Love the blue in that colorway!

  2. Huh, I’ve never thought to play with the stitch count when my socks pool. I don’t know why!

  3. I’m glad to see that I’m not the only person who hates the sound of certain words… though the one that really gets me is “moist.” Just typing it makes me shudder! :0) I hope Samantha is doing well, and all your other furkids…

  4. What an amazing sock. I’m glad you fixed the pooling pattern problem (try saying that 10 times fast) :)

  5. Actually, you have a very interesting effect with that transition from pooling to stripes, I like it a lot.
