Our walk looked a bit different today.
The dogs and I were out the door very early for a hike in Waldo Canyon.
The trail gained elevation quickly and soon we were high above the highway that brought us to the trailhead.
We were walking on the side of the mountain. Every so often we passed large rocks.
The dogs led the way.
As we made our way into the canyon there was a wonderful view of the plains.
The farther we walked, the better the scenery.
After a couple of hours on the trail we rounded a bend and there was Pikes Peak.
I lingered to enjoy the scenery and to snap some pictures. The dogs came back for me.
It was a long hike (~ 7 miles) and we took some short breaks on the trail.
We also made a longer stop in this clearing and had a snack. (Milk Bones for them, granola bars for me, cold water for all.)
Luka was happy to have a moment to rest in the shade.
It was a lovely day.

It certainly looks like it. I wish I had a trail like that around here somewhere. Makes me get out the trail map to look for nice places to walk, even if it’s not that long.
You have such beautiful scenery, and such beautiful dogs.
I love the dogs and the scenery ! The pictures are beautiful. Makes me want to move to Colorado. Please don’t be bored with your blog. I’m not!
