Knitting and feasting and pictures!

This really is the cold from hell. I only worked 5 hours today which makes just 8 hours of work so far for this week. The rest of the week has been spent on the couch.

I think I’m slowly starting to improve. The nose isn’t as stuffy, but the cough is hanging tough and making it nearly impossible to sleep. The worst part is the fatigue. I am just flat out exhausted. I’m going to lie low through the weekend and hopefully bounce back next week. I hope so. I haven’t been this sick in years. My condolences to anyone else who got hit by this killer cold.

My poor dogs have been so neglected this week: no walks, no playing, etc. I feel like a horrible dog mommy, but I’ll make it up to them.

I’ve been knitting in the Mystery Project and also on Log Cabin #2:

I switched the Log Cabin Blanket from the Denise Needles to the Knit Picks Needles. Wow. It is so much easier to knit this on the KP needles. The blanket doesn’t get caught up on the cable and picking up stitches is ridiculously easy. I’ve been knitting with the Denise Needles and the Needlemaster and the Knit Picks needles are superior to both of them.

It’s time again for Friday’s Feast:

Name a song you know by heart.
She Let Herself Go by George Strait. I may or may not have been caught by fellow drivers belting this out at the top of my lungs at a red light.

What will you absolutely not do in front of another person?
Take a crap. But I will do it in front of dogs. I don’t have a choice. They like to line up and watch.

How often do you use mouthwash and what kind do you like?
Um, not very often. Call me a freak, but I have bad memories associated with mouthwash, so never buy it.

Main Course
Finish this sentence: I am embarrassed when…
Why on earth would I answer this and embarrass myself on my own blog?

What was the last food you craved?

It was another gorgeous fall day here in Colorado. I took some pictures on the way home:

You are KILLLING me with those pics – gorgeous – I just imagined myself running at top speed sans a blimp belly and hugging those rocks! But I have a little somethin’ that may make you jealous – my MIL just dropped of some homeade frijoles tamales – I think they are the actual cure for me feeling better.

  2. To me, dogs or cats don’t count as far as doing stuff in front of others. They would never tell, and they don’t judge you! They also don’t make suggestions about how to pluck the unibrow!

  3. so sorry to hear you still under the weather. Hope you feel back to your old self soon.

Those pictures are amazing, once again.

  4. That log cabin block looks awesome! You’ve got a lot of depth in that block…very cool! Those knit pick needles are worth their weight in gold then, huh? They sound wonderful.

  5. Love your log cabin too! I’m making mine out of Cotton Fleece. I love how you have the bright on one side and a counter darker shade on the other. Very neat effect.

  6. I knit my Log Cabin blankets with addi turbo’s. I like them most. I just bought some bamboo circs for knitting hats in the round. But boy did I hate them. The join has a nobbly pump and I had to push every single stitch over it. Grrrrrrrrr! Back to the DP (which I like for knitting socks best anyway). Hope your cold’s getting better. Pool doggies, I know how they get, if they don’t have their exercise! Your LC is looking good by the way and thanks for the B-day wishes for DAvid. He was moved by them, he’s very sentimental. ;o)

  7. Thanks for your visit to my blog today. That is very good news about cotton-ease. It really is a very nice yarn. I hope they expand the colors though. Your log cabin is terrific! I see you are using the Denise Needles – aren’t they great for something like this?

I need to spend some time reading the rest of your blog.
