What: My second Log Cabin blanket
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft and Caron Simply Soft Brites, more details below
Needles: 8
Pattern: Traditional Log Cabin blanket
Lesson Learned: I still love these blankets. They are perfect TV knitting and I love playing with the colors.
Destination: Warm The World
From corner to corner, the blanket is 47″. It is 34″ on each side.
I used the following colors of Simply Soft (well less than one skein of each): Plum Wine, Black, Dark Country Blue, Iris, Grey Heather, Autumn Red, and Dark Sage.
I used the following colors of Simply Soft Brites (well less than one skein of each): Berry Blue, Grape, Watermelon, Limelight, Blue Mint, Lemonade, and Mango.
I love that blanket! I never heard of log cabin blankets. Do all of them have the same pattern? I love Caron’s Simply Soft… so VERY SOFT!
I am a knitter, too, and would love to make a blanket like that. Can this be a scrap yarn project?
YEAH!!!
I love it too!
The black border looks great!

It turned out great, Kathy!
It looks wonderful. π You sure do knit these suckers up fast. π
The black border makes it look “art deco!” Simply goregous, but then again, isn’t aht the standard for all your blankets?
I can’t wait to see the next one!
It turned out beautifully!
Just wonderful! Congrats on finishing another one!! I love how you took the picture with the light playing over it, very neat.
I love it too. When I knit one I’m goin gto use a similar color concept as you did, it’s just too cool.
Kathy- it’s absolutely stunning. what a good use of color!! great job
I must, I must knit one of these!!!! Lovely. π
I love your colors! I am working on my first one and it’s so totally disorganized, color-wise. I will be doing one more stripe… I think… they are so addictive and you just want to keep going. I will make a border, though, still searching for what I want to do for that. Any suggestions? Also, I am wondering if you had a color “plan”, or just dropped to the couch, knitting. Thanks.
Where did you find the Traditional Log Cabin Blanket pattern? Thanks Jean
