Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself. ~ Unknown

Once upon a time this was a knitting blog. Today I am (briefly) returning to my roots.

Many moons ago I dyed this sock blank:

a different kind of rainbow

I finally finished the socks on Saturday night:

Socks

I have to admit that I didn’t really like the socks when I finished them. They didn’t turn out at all how I expected. However, I wore them all day Sunday and we made peace.

Socks

I probably won’t ever love them, but I do like them. And they’re a perfect fit.

More details can be found on their Ravelry page.

On Sunday I dyed the blank for the my next pair of socks:

Sock blank

I cannot wait to knit these. It’s tough to see in the picture, but it’s a subtle tonal effect that I think will make gorgeous socks.

Finally, a picture of Milo. I’m not sure how this position was comfortable, but he was sound asleep.

  1. I cannot wait to see what you create with that gorgeous red color. BTW, Fifty and Milo should have a sleep off! I swear, I find Fifty in the oddest positions.

  2. I love your socks! I’ve wanted to dye yarn (particularly sock blanks) for a long time and just might be brave enough to try it this summer.

  3. Oh that cat. Orange tabbies – I have a soft spot for them.

You make the best sock blanks – I can’t wait to see the red worked into socks. They’ll be beautiful.

  4. That is an awesome position. I’m with you – how is that comfy Milo? I think your Rainbow Brite socks are awesome because nobody will ever have a pair like yours. And I think that is cool.

  5. Oh wow, the socks are beautiful. What’s not to like about them? Milo looks really comfortable!
