I’m a day late, but I did take these photos yesterday, so here’s Saturday Sky:
While I was out taking these pictures, I came across something that cracked me up. I snapped a picture and once I saw the picture, I knew I had to use Flickr Toys to create this:
I spent last night knitting on the Mystery project for the Dutchicans:
To keep the mystery alive, I used my photo software to mess with the colors of this picture.
I want nothing more than to knit today away, but I’ve designated it Fall Cleaning Day. Besides hunting and killing dust bunnies, I have to install my storm windows and seal all the windows that don’t have storm windows. Since I’m sealing the windows for winter, I fully expect it to hit 80 degrees this week.
This really is the cold from hell. I only worked 5 hours today which makes just 8 hours of work so far for this week. The rest of the week has been spent on the couch.
I think I’m slowly starting to improve. The nose isn’t as stuffy, but the cough is hanging tough and making it nearly impossible to sleep. The worst part is the fatigue. I am just flat out exhausted. I’m going to lie low through the weekend and hopefully bounce back next week. I hope so. I haven’t been this sick in years. My condolences to anyone else who got hit by this killer cold.
My poor dogs have been so neglected this week: no walks, no playing, etc. I feel like a horrible dog mommy, but I’ll make it up to them.
I’ve been knitting in the Mystery Project and also on Log Cabin #2:
I switched the Log Cabin Blanket from the Denise Needles to the Knit Picks Needles. Wow. It is so much easier to knit this on the KP needles. The blanket doesn’t get caught up on the cable and picking up stitches is ridiculously easy. I’ve been knitting with the Denise Needles and the Needlemaster and the Knit Picks needles are superior to both of them.
It’s time again for Friday’s Feast:
Name a song you know by heart.
She Let Herself Go by George Strait. I may or may not have been caught by fellow drivers belting this out at the top of my lungs at a red light.
What will you absolutely not do in front of another person?
Take a crap. But I will do it in front of dogs. I don’t have a choice. They like to line up and watch.
How often do you use mouthwash and what kind do you like?
Um, not very often. Call me a freak, but I have bad memories associated with mouthwash, so never buy it.
Finish this sentence: I am embarrassed when…
Why on earth would I answer this and embarrass myself on my own blog?
What was the last food you craved?
It was another gorgeous fall day here in Colorado. I took some pictures on the way home:
…”doing a shot” means this:
Yes, this post is brought to you by generic DayQuil, the “daytime, non-drowsy, stuffy head, sore throat, coughing, aching, fever relief” that leaves you stoned off your ass.
I worked a half day today. I was feeling okay this morning, but before I even made it to work, I was feeling just horrible, so I came home at lunchtime.
Thank you to everyone who commented/emailed ‘get well’ wishes. I do appreciate it.
There’s been a lot of knitting on the mystery project. I’m pleased with how it’s turning out.
Here’s tonight’s sunset, just before a storm blew through:
And here’s Kishka, looking rather concerned at my coughing/sneezing fit:
I have a new knitting ‘bag’:
I was taking out the trash last night and as I was lifting the kitty lit container into the dumpster I thought, “Wait a second….”.
It’s fits one of my mystery projects perfectly.
Want a little peek?
There may be some frogging in my future. One of my blankets just isn’t doing it for me and I want to use the yarn for something else.
We’ve been having an absolutely gorgeous stretch of weather here in Colorado.
Today’s Saturday Sky:
MJ hosted a puppy party/knit group at her house today.
Felicia and I showed up with knitting, food and puppies.
There was a lot of playing:
Followed by a lot of resting:
I’m making progress on the At First Blush Blanket:
There’s mystery knitting going on, too. The first project is almost finished.
I’ll close today with my favorite picture that I took today. It’s of my darling Kishka, being most unladylike:
I have been knitting, but I won’t be showing pictures just yet. I’m participating in a virtual baby shower for Kristi and I don’t want to post the items I’m knitting for her until she receives them. I’m sure the triplets (yes, triplets!) were enough of a surprise for Kristi and her hubby, but I’m funny like that. I like people to be surprised by gifts. That’s what makes it so fun to give them.
As always, it’s time for Friday’s Feast:
What is your favorite herb or spice?
Well, this question assumes I know what I’m doing when I use herbs/spices. I don’t. I just kind of wing it when I cook and I most often use the all purpose italian seasoning.
Name a song you like but haven’t heard in a long time.
Melt With You by Modern English. It’s one of my favorite songs in the world and I haven’t heard it in months.
If you were to take just one minute to write down as many things as you can think of that you need (not want) to do, approximately how many things would there be?
I’m not sure I understand this question. Does it mean things I need to do every day (go to work, feed the dogs, etc.) or does it mean in the grand scope of life? Regardless, silly question. Next!
Tell something interesting about one of your family members (nothing scandalous, please, just something unique).
When my grandmother got married (in the 1930’s), she didn’t tell anyone. She was a nurse and would have gotten fired.
What’s the latest you’ve ever stayed awake?
I’m a night owl, so staying up until dawn is not a big deal. I try not to do it very often because it throws off my sleep schedule, but on the weekends I’m usually up until 2 or 3am. The longest amount of time I’ve been awake without sleep is 36 hours.
