Another pair of the plan.*

Iris Socks

Lesson Learned: None.

Destination: my feet!

** Modified pattern to incorporate K2P2 ribbing; 5″ leg, changed heel flap to 32 rows

This is my first time using this yarn and I’m very happy with it. The colors are vibrant and I had plenty left over (which doesn’t always happen with my clown feet):

* The plan is world domination via knitted socks.

This space intentionally left blank.

This week’s feast:

When you were a child, which crayon color was your favorite?

From what I remember, I tended to gravitate toward the bright pinks, purples and greens. I do remember a fondness for magenta, but that’s just because I thought the word looked cool.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest), how likely would you be to change jobs if it required you to move?

I lived through this a few months ago and the answer is 1. My job moved and I chose not to move with it.

Take all the numbers in your birthday and your phone number and add them up, one by one. What’s the total?

Silly questions. Next!

Have you ever “re-gifted” anything? If so, what was it and who did you pass it on to?

I’m sure I have, but I can’t remember a specific item. I don’t think it’s bad to re-gift (as long as you use some sense about it). I would rather have someone re-gift something I gave to them than have them never use it or to throw it out.

Name something you need from the store.

Yarn. Oh, I guess that’s not a need. I don’t need anything because I just went to the store.

I was awake for the sunrise this morning:

The Iris socks should be finished soon:

Today’s portraits:

Socks on parade.

The Iris socks are knitting for home:

The Pastel Rainbow socks are (finally!) past the heel:

The Socks of Spring have their cuffs finished:

Samantha loves her toys. Here she is with her (now headless) purple bear:

And, thanks to post Easter clearance sales, here is her new rabbit:

Finally, last night’s sunset:

The pattern of gorgeous sunsets continues:

Kishka continues to sleep in odd positions:

Sam continues to guard her toys while sleeping:

The Iris socks continue to grow:

I am (obviously) obsessed with socks right now. However, none of mine inspire me tonight:

It’s definitely time to cast on another pair!

If a picture is worth a thousand words…

…this is going to be a very long post.

Tonight’s sunset was, once again, spectacular. It was so spectacular that more than one photograph is required to showcase its splendor:

The first Iris sock is knitting up quickly:

Sam’s pink bunny has taken a beating, so i introduced another toy in the hopes of making the bunny last longer. Sam loves the purple bear almost as much as the pink bunny:

I didn’t mean to do it, but today ended up being portrait day in this house.

I managed to get an eye level shot of Kishka:

I snapped Samantha as she looked out the window:

Parker stopped batting at the camera long enough for me to take his picture:

And finally, the shy boy Romeo. He would not open his eyes for the camera.

And finally, furry paws!

Keeping it simple (part two): feast and socks.

The Forest socks are moving towards the toes:

I’ve been on a Modern Marvels kick lately and most of the episodes require attentive viewing. Since all of my socks in progress also require attention, I cast on a pair of mindless socks:

This week’s Friday’s Feast:

What are you proud of?

My independence.

What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize?

I don’t think I’ve ever won anything. At least not anything I remember.

Name something you do that is a waste of time.

Hitting the snooze button too many times.
